Project Overview

Childhood Therapy Center needed its existing location to expand to an adjacent space to accommodate growth in practice. In renovating the existing space, the challenge was to join the two areas without interrupting their patient services or guests, particularly with sensory concerns.

A large therapy gym with exercise equipment, including treadmills and stationary bikes. The space features bold red floor markings and black sports silhouettes painted on the walls. Bright windows line the room, allowing for ample natural light, and colorful therapy mats are stacked neatly in the corner.

Key Achievements

  • Minimizing Disruption: Horgan carefully planned construction to ensure no interference with Theraplay’s daily operations. All work was performed overnight, with spaces cleaned and returned to full functionality by morning. Additional work was completed on Sundays when the facility was closed.
  • Precision Planning: The project required detailed coordination and communication between Theraplay, the building management, and Horgan’s team. This ensured the project progressed smoothly while respecting the needs of the therapists, staff, and guests.
  • Construction Services: Horgan executed a phased renovation approach. Overnight and Off-Hours Work. Each portion of the project was tackled in manageable segments and completed overnight to minimize disruption. Clean and Safe Transitions. The workspace was left clean and operational by morning to maintain the facility’s welcoming environment for patients and staff. Seamless Integration. The expanded and renovated space was designed to merge cohesively with the existing area, ensuring a functional and visually appealing result.
A sensory therapy room featuring a hanging platform swing suspended from the ceiling. The room has padded blue mats covering the floor and walls for safety. A large blue foam cylinder lies on the floor, and a red beanbag sits near a window with trees visible outside.

The project was completed with minimal disruption to daily operations, ensuring a comfortable and uninterrupted experience for therapists, patients, and their families.”

A therapy space with a turquoise accent wall and equipment including a therapy walker, an exercise ball, and a wooden balance beam. A storage cabinet runs along the wall beneath the bright blue section, and a black silhouette of a child playing sports decorates the adjacent white wall.

By prioritizing careful planning, precise execution, and open communication, Horgan provided a tailored solution that met operational and aesthetic needs, resulting in a space that supports both their growth and their commitment to patient care.
