Smart Spaces for Productivity

Horgan Building Co. was engaged as a strategic partner to lead a comprehensive retrofit of an existing office suite. The objective was to transform a dated, closed-off environment into a bright, modern, and collaborative workspace that aligned with the client’s brand identity and operational goals. The project was designed to replace outdated high-wall cubicles and maximize both natural light and functional flow.

Key Achievements

  • Advisory & Planning: We collaborated closely with the client to perform a thorough feasibility study and develop a retrofit strategy that achieved maximum visual and functional impact within the limits of the existing structure. Early planning focused on light quality, acoustic balance, and finish durability to enhance both comfort and long-term maintenance performance.

  • Planning and Team Building: Horgan seamlessly coordinated project planning sessions, integrating architectural, engineering, and design experts to create a unified and efficient construction schedule. This proactive approach eliminated unknowns, reduced downtime, and ensured uninterrupted business operations, all while guaranteeing efficiency, quality, and functionality.
  • Construction: The construction phase showcased our team’s expertise and adaptability. We executed a full interior renovation—including ceiling tile replacement, modern pendant lighting installation, carpet tile flooring, and complete painting and finish upgrades. By anticipating challenges and managing every detail, from coordinating subcontractors to ensuring quality control, the project was delivered on time and with zero punch list carryover.
  • Furniture Procurement & Installation: The client’s existing furniture systems, though fully built and never used at another site, required complete disassembly and reconfiguration to fit the new floor plan. Our team carefully mapped layouts, verified dimensions, and meticulously reassembled each workstation, creating an open and cohesive design. We ensure infrastructure and furniture decisions were aligned with the project goals. The result was an open, cohesive office design that maximized natural light, improved visibility between teams, and promoted a more collaborative atmosphere.
  • Facility Maintenance & Repairs: During ceiling tile replacement, our team proactively identified and repaired damaged roof insulation. This solution not only improved the building’s energy efficiency and thermal comfort but also prevented future maintenance issues. This proactive measuring along with additional patching and refinishing completed the space to a like-new condition, ensuring the long-term health of the facility.

The completed retrofit is a testament to our unique Blueprint approach. It transformed a dated, closed-off office into a bright, modern workspace that perfectly aligns with the client’s operational goals. The result is a space that feels both intentional and functional, supporting teamwork and productivity while ensuring a healthier, more efficient facility for years to come. At Horgan, we don’t just build spaces—we solve problems and deliver exceptional outcomes that truly work for our clients.
